Invite A Speaker

SAAA is proud to offer presentations & workshops. Our speakers have several pre-made talks, but are also happy to work with you and customize one for your event/organization - whether you are looking for a general introduction to a-spec identities and issues, or want to dive into a specific topic.

Our speakers’ locations are noted below. They may be able to travel to other locations in Alberta or host a talk online. Please contact us to discuss options (use the button below, or email abacesandaros@gmail.com).

In the interest of accessibility, we do not charge a fee, however we ask that you consider making a donation to SAAA following your event so that we can continue offering this service in the future.

Sasha Bauer (she/they)

Sasha sometimes jokes that she slippery-sloped into asexuality, from calling themself bi in high school, to a string of grey microlabels, finally landing on ace. They recognize this journey is not uncommon and is keen to raise awareness about a-spec identities to ease the process of self-discovery & acceptance for others. Sasha has been involved with SAAA since 2016 and is the current President. She has 6+ years of experience working in international education. Currently, Sasha is pursuing her funeral services license & writing a novel on the side.

Sasha is based in Calgary but may be able to travel elsewhere. She has 2 talks prepared:

  • Intro to Asexuality and Aromanticism

  • Understanding Aphobia to be a Stronger Ally
