Join us on Zoom at 8:00 pm Friday November 10th for a discussion night.
The gender ratios of the a-spec community are kind of weird compared to the general population. It's overwhelmingly women and non-binary people, with relatively few men represented. Why is this? Is it who finds the community? Is it social acceptability to be a-spec? Do you feel that your gender and your a-spec identity affect each other? Is your a-spec experience different than others because of your gender?
At this discussion night, we’ll talk about the links around gender and asexuality & aromanticism.

Join us on Zoom, Friday October 6 starting at 7pm, for an informative talk. We’ll start by introducing concepts associated with the asexual and aromantic community (terminology, symbols, history, etc.). After that, we will discuss aphobia: the various ways that prejudice & discrimination show up in society, and what you can do to be a better ally or advocate for the a-spec community.
Please feel free to share this event! We encourage everyone to attend – whether you identify as asexual/aromantic or are questioning, or if you are not a-spec but want to expand your knowledge and ability to offer support. One of the pillars of our info talks is Question Amnesty and creating a non-judgemental space, which means that you can bring us any & all questions you might not feel comfortable asking others, and we will do our best to provide an answer.
